Foundation Skills program builds strong workforces during change
Uncertain times can often drive a shake up, dynamic change and a chance to upskill your workforce or yourself to make the most of new and evolving opportunities.
During these current challenging times, Navitas English’s employment programs are going from strength to strength, as we continue to support personalised employer and individual training to help refugees and migrants succeed in their current or future career with our Foundation Skills for Your Future (FSfYF) program.
The free Government-funded program is designed to help people succeed in the workplace by enhancing their language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills.
Navitas English is proud to support our healthcare workers
The overwhelming success of our Foundation Skills for Your Future pilot program to build the language, literacy and numeracy skills of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) staff at a Western Sydney hospital, has led to the demand for three more courses in the same local health district.
More than 70% of participants opted to take part in the pilot course to feel more confident at work. And a final survey of those participants showed 100% reported feeling more confident with their language, literacy and numeracy skills, and 100% were either “satisfied” or “very satisfied” with all elements of the course. Feedback from hospital management was also excellent. Managers noted the increased confidence, participation and inclusion of their CALD staff members.
A hospital management outcomes report stated: “There was excellent planning and support from the hospital management and administration, along with open lines of communication with Navitas management.”
Foundation Skills program constructs better workplace opportunities
Earlier this year we successfully delivered the program to tilers at CommUnity Construction, a Sydney social enterprise founded by former refugee Hedayat Osyan.
Hedayat said the program was the perfect partnership to his business as it helped workers not only improve their English, communication and digital skills, but it also raised their confidence and led to better workplace performance.
Hedayat said, “I would recommend Navitas training and English class for other employers because when I started my partnership with Navitas I can see a lot of improvement with my employees. They are very confident now.”
The Foundation Skills for Your Future program’s Workplace Training is a great way for businesses to give their employees the skills and confidence required to enhance job performance, productivity, and help their business grow. Our Personalised Training is also a great way for eligible individuals to improve skills in language, literacy, numeracy and digital, to reskill for a new career path or to open better opportunities within the workplace.
